Pumpkin - female flower

I have noticed that the female flower of my pumpkin seems to be dying off at an early stage ... turning yellow when it is still very small and then dropping off.... wonder how to make it grow bigger? From the picture below, you can see a tiny little flower bud (yellow in colour now) with a little blob behind.... this is the second time I am seeing this happen on the same plant.....
