Away!

I will be away for a 10-day break! Going to see the northern lights! Woohoo.... so looking forward!! Hope my plants will survive my long absence!!! Wishing you a Happy Holiday season too!

Harvest Today

Quite a fair bit today! Haha...

Banana Thief!

Oh dear, some blessed soul hacked off the top 2 rows of my banana! Argh..... goodness me!
So decided to harvest my bananas instead of waiting any further!! There are 7 rows of bananas left!

Big Chilli & Small Lime

My biggest haul of the small lime! The smell when I freshly picked it is just so heavenly! And the fully ripen big red chilli!

Oregano, Tarragon & Thyme

All to the soil before my long trip! Hope they survive during my long absence!

Edamame

My first harvest of edamame! Not as big as those from Sushi Teh but good enough for me! LOL

Hibiscus

Moved my stem cut hibiscus to the ground! Grow them in 2 different places! Hope they can thrive!

Soy Bean aka Edamame

My edamame ready to be picked by this week! Good that I can pick some of them before I go away!

Water Chestnut - Blooms!

Spotted a bloom in my water chestnut! It must be a bloom right?! Cos it looks different! LOL

Moringa

Someone gifted with a moringa! I planted it to the ground as growing in pot will limit its growth. However the recent wet weather is proving too stressful for it! The leaves are turning yellow slowing!

Guava

My one and only guava growing steadily.... But still not as big as the last one!

Hanging Red Chillies!

Gotta harvest them before they are picked by itchy hands!
This lot is pretty sizeable!

Chayote

Moved it to my garden so that there is space for it to climb!

Wonders of Aloe Vera

I have been growing aloe vera for ages but have never used it before for cooking or anything. Few days ago, I suffered a cut from chopping the bamboos and my neighbour picked a portion of her aloe vera and asked me to apply on my wound. Wow, I am amazed! It helps to close my wound after a few minutes! The bleeding stopped almost immediately! I am simply amazed!
My neighbour added that it will also help with scar healing so I have been applying the gel onto a scar on my right hand for 2 days. My scar has indeed lightened a fair bit! I am so happy with the result that I grew another pot in my bedroom again! LOL

Sage

Out of 4 Sage stem cut that I rooted a while ago, only 1 is left! Again, pests! All of them turned black when I moved to a pot. I was clueless initially as to why they turned black! Only when I removed the stem that I realised that ants are laying eggs on the roots! Aiyo!! I managed to save 1 from death!

Sweet Basil

Finally a decent growing sweet basil from seed! Glad that snails and slugs can't reach it! All others are either attacked by aphids or snails! Argh

Kang Kong

Harvested my box of kang kong! Tall and scrawny. Enough to make a meal for 2!

Toppled Banana Tree

Overwhelmed by its own weight! LOL.... I can pick these in a couple of weeks!

Harvested Banana

My helper harvested the first lot of bananas! Its flower was first spotted on 11 August. So it took about 3.5 months to harvest!
There are 8 rows of bananas! Will give away 7 of them and keep 1 for myself! Each banana is huge! They taste like those Del Monte ones!
Any leftovers will be used to make banana cake!

Kang Kong

Guess ready to be harvested! Scrawny due to overcrowding but should be enough to make a meal! Will harvest before my long Dec trip!

Chilli Padi

My chilli padi plants are dying one by one! Argh.. wondering why? This one is currently turning black! :-( Didn't see any visible pests on its leaves or on its trunk! Guess it must be infested in the root system.
Put in some neem cake powder about a week or so ago! These few days, noticed some new growth! Hoping that it will be saved!

Supersized Cherry Tomato

Harvested a supersized cherry tomato!

Hibiscus Cuttings

Someone blessed me with 3 hibiscus cuttings! I have always wanted to grow hibiscus!

Sunflowers!

All bloomed! Lovely sight!

Fig

Harvested my fig! Not very sweet for this one!

Harvest Today

Not too bad!

Soy Bean

My edamame is growing bigger! Plenty to harvest! Hope I can harvest them before I go away on my long trip in December!

Chia

One of those few that has grown big!

Visit To Alan's Mini Farm

Visited a fellow urban farmer @ Boon Keng! OMG, the mini farm is DOING SO WELL! His fingers are indeed so GREEN!
So many big and sizeable Winter Melons hanging on his vine!
Super productive okras! And they are HUGE too! He said he fertilised using compost every week! OMG! I think the other reason for his bountiful harvest is PLENTY OF SUNSHINE! That place is HOT! How blessed he is! It was a fun visit and he blessed me with a big winter melon, okra and bittergourd. Some seeds too of his okra! Woohoo!
