Potted Papaya

This is 1 of my 3 papaya plants that is producing fruits.... the other 2 are going to die on me soon as they are currently being infested with mealy bugs... Need to get some neem oil to see if I can rescue them.... badly infested now as I haven't been around to take care of them for the past 7 days... sigh....

Big Tomatoes

My helper grew some big tomatoes plant in a pot at my balcony.... this spot has limited direct sunlight...even in the morning. Shall see if it is able to produce a decent tomato... it is going to flower soon!

Chives aka Gu Cai

Bought a pack of Gu Cai seeds.... only RM1.50... cheap! compared to seeds in SG!
So this is how the Gu Cai seeds look like! They are SO flat!

Soursop - Flower Buds!

Surprise find this morning while watering my plants.... flower buds for one of my soursop plant! This is grown from seed! Woohoo.. hope the flower stays!

Big Chilli Red

I suddenly remembered a friend's story about big chilli - she wanted to grow green chilli so she bought green chilli from the market and threw in the seeds! LOL.... Fresh red chilli which I picked yesterday.... My mission now is to grow MANY big chili plants! Haha.... Not easy but I will try to work out how to make their thrive!

Indonesian Sweet Potato

My patch of Indonesian Sweet Potato is still not producing any flowers even after 6 months (I think I grew them for 6 months by now!).... The purple ones will produce blooms after about 6 months of growing. Hmmm... will see if it produces any sweet potato for me after my trip next week! At the same time, will harvest the leaves for stir fry - they taste good! Not fibrous!

Vege

My vege seedlings planted a few weeks ago will be ready for harvest by end of this week or early next week! Must pick before I go off for my durian trip to Penang next week! LOL

Sweet Basil

A few stalks of my sweet basil kena whacked by the roaming painters.... So sayang to throw away so decided to re pot it after rooting in water.

Kang Kong

After a few cuts, my kang kong started to produce flowers. Now their leaves and stalks are a bit too fibrous to eat. Guess will remove all after the seeds come.

White Bittergourd

Big Cover-Up

Praying for the least damage to my plants after the big paintwork!!

Guava

3 little fruits still hanging on the plant..... Hmmm... I think I may have to sacrifice one or 2 to produce a bigger fruit...

Small Lime - Fertiliser

Seems that my neighbour's fruiting fertiliser is working! After mass flowering, the little fruits appearing now.... I will swear by it if the fruit stays! LOL
Took some to try on my big lime today! Hope it works for big lime too!

My Daily Picks

Capsicum

My 2 boxes of capsicum having growth spurts! Suddenly grow so big and healthily...
One of them producing blooms.... Hope they survive the ongoing painting works.

Chiku

Long awaited one... after weeks, still so tiny.. Sure hope I get to eat it before itchy fingers come again

Guava

The 2 earlier flowers which I pollinated did not materialise somehow. So this time, I left the new ones on its own devices .... And it seems to have been pollinated! Sometimes, human intervention is not good! LOL

Small Lime

My one & only small lime.... Since it is the only one growing, I hope it turn out fat & juicy!
My neighbour let me try her organic fruiting fertiliser on my small lime as I was telling her that the flowers dropped and no fruits came up.... soon after, plenty of flowers.. sure hope it is successful...

Big Chillies Itchy Hands

Some itchy hands have been picking my big chillies of late - 5 gone off while still green. Argh. Hate them... I haven't even harvested a single one and yet 5 of them gone. Wonder why got such people????

Cherry Tomatoes

Cherry tomatoes from my friend sprouted! Store bought seeds... I hope they grow better than my current one... Sprouting rate not very high... I think I sowed 10 seeds... only 2 came up! LOL

Dirt Everywhere!

My estate is having repainting work done and they need to jet wash the buildings... resulting in most of my plants being covered by a layer of dirt from the washing :-(

Lazy Me!

Haha... yup that's lazy me... haven't been updating my blog! The weather has been VERY dry for weeks so I have been watering my plants conscientiously daily and that alone takes up to 1 hour of my gardening time! Glad for some rain yesterday so I can take a break! LOL.. Have a good week ahead!

Tiny Papaya Tree

I have had this papaya tree for over 2 years and it is still so short... barely reach my kneecap! LOL... wondering if it will ever bear fruit!

Companion Planting

A friend suggested companion planting for brinjal... with chilli... The chilli will help keep the pests away from the brinjal... Haha.. trying it out to see if it works!!
The soil is sinking for this pot of brinjal. Earlier on, I put in a lot of kitchen garbage right at the bottom of the pot - guess it has started to decompose so that's why the soil started to sink. This is a great idea, to me! LOL...As the brinjal grows, I can top up more soil, covering more of the stem so that it will not grow too tall out of the pot. Shall do that for all my potted plants now.

White Bittergourd

Still no sight of female flower ... hmmmm
