Cape Gooseberry - Bloom

Finally the first bloom of the Cape Gooseberry!

Pumpkin - Day 3

Slightly plumber as compared to yesterday & the petals are starting to dry up...

UREA on Citrus Plants

My gardening SIFU said that citrus plants need UREA to flower and fruit. I have been vexing over why my limes (big green lime, yellow lemon and limau kasturi) are not producing flowers and fruit. So decided to try UREA. Bought a pack 2 weeks ago and applied some on all of my citrus plants. This morning, in one of my pot of limau kasturi, I saw flower buds! Is it due to UREA? Not too sure because the other ones are still barren. I will need to re apply once again to see if the others will give me some flowers.
My yellow lemon is still barren though its leaves are beautifully green!

Sweet Basil

Self sowed

Stevia - Blooms

Pretty little tiny white!

Air Layering - Mango

My 2nd attempt in trying to air layer a branch of my mango plant! More compact this time round so I hope it will work!

Grafting - Guava

Tried applying what I have recently learned! Grafting! Grafted my guava producing tree to a seed grown one! 21 days later, I will know if I am successful! Sure hope I am. If so, I will graft a few more on this and my other seed grown guava plant.

Pumpkin

After I pollinated yesterday morning, an hour later, it poured so heavily!! Oh gosh was so worried that the pollen would be washed off!! Glad that it turned out okay.... went back to check 2 hours later and it looked okay.. Hope it gets fully pollinated. This is how it looks this morning..... it has turned downwards. Looks positive!

Air Layered Fig

My first successful air layered fig

Grapevine

Trying to root my grapevine in another location to see if it is growing better..... Going to chop off my old one if this roots and grows well.

Fig

The fruits are so TINY!

Too Much Rainnnnnnnn :-(

There is just too much rain for the past week! Glad for some good sunshine today!

Pumpkin

Woohoo... it bloomed this morning!
Lucky there is a male flower that I could pick and hand pollinate.... removed the petals so that I could target the pollens directly.
And this is how I hand pollinate....Lathering the tip of the female with the male pollens...
So this is the before (right below) and after (following the one right below) hand pollination...
Woohoo.. keeping my fingers crossed! Lucky the weather is good this morning!

Passiflora G

I just realised yesterday that the bloom emits such a strong scent!! But yet, no bees came to pollinate! I tried hand pollination but I couldn't find any pollens????
As expected, the 1st 2 blooms just dropped off after they bloomed! :-(

Cape Gooseberry

The shape is coming up!

Chives

Doing very well these days! Hope they divide and grow more so that I can pick a decent batch for cooking!

Mango Harvest

Harvested 2 mangoes today. Most of them are starting to turn yellow but I am taking my time to pick them. I wish I can let them fully ripen on the tree but there are just too many 'quick hands' entering the garden....

Soursop

My 2nd seed grown soursop has finally started to flower! I read that you need to hand pollinate in order to increase its chances of producing fruit. I need to find out more on this!

Chiku

This chiku has been on the tree on over 6 months and still haven't ripen!

Ixora

Gifted from bird droppings. Finally some decent flower blooms... In a small pot and very much neglected yet still give me some blooms!

Pumpkin - Female Flower

Yup this female flower is going to bloom soon! Hope I manage to catch it while it blooms so that I can self pollinate!
Spotted another tiny one developing further down the vine! Hope it can survive too!

Kang Kong

Kang Kong loves water so I am glad I planted this during this rainy season!

Tomato Split!

It has been raining everyday for the past 5 days!!! Caused most of tomatoes to split! Argh

Banana

My neighbour's banana... see how resilient it is.. even though its branches are being cut off (maids in my estate really help themselves with the banana leaves!)... it is still bearing some fruit... that's what I mean when I say bananas are really so easy to grow!
