Xiao Bai Cai Day 21

Just one day and my xiao bai cai seems to be grown so much bigger!! They sure look more and more like xiao bai cai now!! When they are about 25-26 days old, I will start to sow my red bayam seeds so that after I harvest my xiao bai cai, I can transplant my red bayam immediately... Need crop rotation! I learned during hydroponics workshop today that bayam can be harvested again and again, like kang kong... how nice!

Edamame

Finally transplanted the sprouted edamame into the raised bed this afternoon... After transplant, it rained so heavily! Hoping they will survive the heavy rain!!!! Will transplant the last sprouted one at home tomorrow morning and add 2 more seeds into the bed... Wow, sure looking forward to eating my home grown edamame! yum...

Winged Bean

Still trying to decide if this is the winged bean plant that I planted together with the other one... It sprouted in the same spot that I made a mark where I put in the seed.... Hm..... The other 2 are doing very well.... the one under the shade is doing much better though...

Pumpkin - flower buds

Flower buds getting bigger for the pumpkins! But they are all male flowers... looking high and low for that elusive female counterpart but nowhere in sight yet!! Guess they have not reached puberty yet! LOL My neighbour's hand pollinated pumpkin is still intact which means that it really works!!! Hooray, no more dropped pumpkin-lets henceforth!

Xiao Bai Cai Day 20

Basically I just left them in the box after the transplant and merely water them on a daily basis.... the plants toppled a little but I am going to just leave it and see what happens... So far, they seem to be okay... I guess growing them in boxes seem to be a better option than growing them in the plot! Less care needed..... I did not even topped up the soil..!

Kang kong

I think my kang kong is almost ready for harvest!! Hope they taste as delicious as they look cos I have been diligently spraying them with enzyme daily for the past week and giving them TLC since they were young!! LOL One thing I like about growing kang kong is that even if you cut off the top, it will still continue to grow!!

Bamboo trellis

Oh well, neighbour informed that someone made a complaint about us chopping the bamboos!! LOL.... typical Singaporeans indeed... haha... ok then, gotta think of alternative ways to build my trellis now.... or hope that the gardeners will chop the bamboos faster so that we have spare ones to use!! To think that I haven't build my trellis for my passion fruit plant!! OMG.... ok, think think think....
