Sweet potato

My neighbour harvested their purple sweet potato a few days ago... I got 2 from them today... cooked it for lunch and it tasted not too bad....

Honeydew harvest

Finally harvested the big honeydew and shared with my neighbours! The joy of cutting the harvest & sharing is just so wonderful! This is my neighbour holding my harvest! Everyone is impressed with the size of the fruit!! I am glad the honeydew yielded 2 fruits!!! It tasted just as sweet and crunchy as the smaller one...! I removed all the remaining stems and leaves of the honeydew plant... I will convert this plot to grow passion fruit instead as the 3 little honeydew seedlings are not doing as well... probably the nutrients in the soil are all taken up by the elder sister!!

Tomato flowers

One of the first tomato flowers dropped off !!!! OMG... Is it due to the heavy rain yesterday????? OMG, I hope it will not happen to the rest... I have been giving shakes to the plant daily ... really hoping & praying that it will work!!

Pumpkin flowered

Again, I did not manage to catch the pumpkin flower in bloom!! Elusive blooms indeed! I think I spotted a tiny growing female flower... it has a little bulge behind! I sure hope it is!!! And, by the way, the hand pollinated female flower of my neighbour's dropped off!!! I wonder why... maybe got to pollinate longer????????

Honeydew harvested!

I harvested the smaller honeydew this afternoon cos the leaves / vines have turned brown! To my surprise, it was sweet & crunchy even though the blossom end did not smell of honeydew!!! Yum yum yum...! 4 months of hard work and patience paid off well!!! I will harvest the other bigger one tomorrow morning!!!

Wondering....

Wondering what plant is this that grows just right next to my chilli padi??? Will wait a little longer before I decide which one to sacrifice.......

Pumpkin flowered!

I didn't know my pumpkin opened its first male flower! The flower bud withered by the time I realised. I guessed it flower after my morning routine because I did not see it flower when I went to water them in the morning! There is another one that is going to flower - hope to catch it in full bloom tomorrow! The others are budding too.... I hope to see a female flower next week so that I can try my hand at hand pollination! Seems so fun!! Haha....
